Overview
Our client is an Environmental Consultancy within a larger group of consulting engineers offering a variety of engineering solutions to the construction industry.
They specialise in identifying, quantifying, and reducing abnormal costs to developments at an early stage and provide effective holistic solutions for a range of geotechnical, environmental, and waste management issues for both commercial and private clients.
Based in the Chester, Manchester or Warrington office, this opening for a Senior or Engineer level Geotechincal/Geoenvironmental Engineer is 50 - 60% site based and ideal if you are looking to take the next step in your career.
Responsibilities

Writing of Phase 1 and Phase 2 reports

Design, set up and management of site investigations, including logging of soil

Management of site based sub-contractors

Recording and interpretation of site data

Scheduling of chemical and geotechnical testing

DQRAs
-
Preparation of generic and site-specific health and safety risk assessments

Role will involve both client and regulator liaison
Requirements
-
Relevant degree
-
A relevant Master’s degree either within Geological or Environmental Science disciplines may be beneficial
-
Minimum 2 years' relevant post-graduate industry background
-
Membership of a professional organisation such as the Geological Society or CIWEM
-
Ideally working towards Chartered Status

Be able to demonstrate a proven track record relating to the management and reporting of contaminated land, geotechnical and civil engineering site investigations
-
Strong communication and report writing skills will be required
-
Knowledge and/or experience of remediation and verification work will also be beneficial
-
Ideally have experience with the use of borehole software such as HoleBase/AGS
-
Excellent MS Word and Excel skills, as well as a basic knowledge of CAD
-
Full driving licence
